Dr. Anthony Cahan's post-graduate training included an internship and residency in general surgery at The New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical College, where he focused on vascular and thoracic procedures, oncologic treatments of the breast and other areas, and endoscopic techniques. Among his many research projects were cancer studies conducted at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Beth Israel Hospital.

While completing his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1982, he received the Alfred Moritz Michaelis Prize for Efficiency in Medicine. In addition to his duties as a breast surgeon and Chief of Breast Surgical Services at Northern Westchester Hospital, Dr. Anthony Cahan also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at New York Medical College and an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Surgery at Cornell University Medical College. At Beth Israel Hospital, he was the physician-in-charge of the Comprehensive Breast Service, as well as a member of the Cancer Committee. In 2010, he was named Northern Westchester Hospital's Physician of the Year.
